Drawknifes
Drawknifes are one of the most usefull tools in a chairmaker's tool box. They are simple tools that are relatively easy to sharpen - they are basically a blade with two handles. They are used to rough out most chair parts: seats, crests, spindles and even leg blanks.
The model pictured on the upper right is a special form of drawknife called "pommel knife", used in carving the pommel of a seat.
