Adzes, axes and froes
The froes (left) are used to control the direction of a split when splitting a log. Axes (second from right) are all purpose tools used in removing bark, pith and to assist in splitting wood.
Adzes, or "gutter adzes", are used while saddling the seat. They are roughing out tools used to create the bowl shape of the seat. Scorps are used to refine the shape.
