Fanback easy chairs were produced in relatively large numbers from 1760 in New-England and Philadelphia. This model is inspired by models found on the Island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. It has an oval seat, mortised tailpiece, carved knuckles and two support braces. It is one of the most iconagraphic Windsor forms.
